2024 financial review

Paul Cooke provides an overview of how supporters’ generous donations were used last year

Compared to 2023, 2024 saw a significant increase in total income from £399k to £516k. This was partly due to a particularly generous one-off donation of £77k (including Gift Aid) which the Trustees have currently designated to support the future purchase of a building for the church-plant in Clichy. But equally significant was the generosity of supporters during France Mission’s 50th anniversary year, meaning that annual income exceeded £500k for the first time.

Total expenditure declined from £438k to £414k last year, primarily because expenditure rose significantly in 2023 as we committed surplus reserves to ministry activities. 2024 was necessarily a more cautious year in terms of the reserves, but the higher-than-expected income means that the Trustees have again been able to commit more funds to mission in France so far in 2025.

There was very little income from legacies last year (a little under £500). If you’re among those who’ve made plans to leave a gift to France Mission in their will, thank you very much.

The total number of records in our database rose by about 300 in 2024, largely due to advertising undertaken with the Christian booksellers Eden. By the end of 2024, FM was connected with over 3,300 individuals who were supporting the Lord’s work through prayers and gifts. Thank you for being part of this!

A huge thank you to all supporters, old and new, whose prayerful generosity is helping God’s kingdom to grow in France. May He continue to enable and prosper the work through the gifts and prayers of His people!

The Annual Report and Accounts for 2024 will soon be available for download either from the Charity Commission or the FM website. If you’d like any more information, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
