Work in progress!

IBN fundraiser Rachel Vaughan provides an update on the renovation project

Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labour in the Lord is not in vain. (1 Corinthians 15.58)

A big thank you from everyone at the Institut Biblique de Nogent (IBN) for all your support and prayers for our renovation project. Since our appeal in September, France Mission supporters have donated over €15,000, bringing the total raised to over €350,000. We praise God for His provision and for your partnership with us. We’re also grateful for the time and expertise provided by a number of volunteer workers.

Over the past year, renovation work on our historic campus building has made good progress: damaged beams have been replaced, new water pipes have been installed, and roof repairs are now underway. The attic has been cleared and partition walls have been removed on the 3rd floor, making space for duplex apartments to accommodate families. Work on the attic conversion will continue over the next 24 months. However, in the course of these renovations, we discovered that the building is in need of rewiring, the central heating must be replaced, and a new ventilation system installed.

As we steel ourselves for several more years of building work, it’s an encouragement to remember that our efforts are not in vain. Although bricks and mortar are probably not the labour Paul had in mind in his letter to the Corinthians, they are an invaluable asset for gospel ministry in France. By investing in these renovations, we are ensuring the long-term viability of the Institute, so we can train evangelical leaders for generations to come. So, as I look at the scaffolding through my office window, I know this building work is not in vain, because it enables us to welcome and teach more students, equipping and sending them into ministry to bear fruit that lasts into eternity.

Please pray with us:

·        that the work would progress without any obstacles

·        for God to provide funds for the remaining repairs and renovations

·        for more students to enrol for training and for the Institute to stand firm in its ministry
