“We remain small and fragile”

Missionaries Peter & Rachel Calvert ask you to pray for their ongoing work in Blois

At the time of writing, we’re not sure whether youth camps are going to be possible in any shape or form this summer. But we’d like to ask you to intercede for the kids who were planning to come, and for the other youngsters we’re in contact with. The Good Shepherd continues to search for His lost sheep, and we want to be available to serve those He is drawing to Himself.

Although church life remains mostly online for the moment,we’re grateful to have been able to re-open the gallery. Please pray for opportunities to serve our neighbours as we hold out the hope of the gospel. Economically, Blois is very dependent on tourism, so these are anxious times. We’re grateful for openings God has given through the online Bible and Art course, thanks for your prayers for those who took part. Please pray that God would lead us to others who are willing to consider the claims of Jesus and that more people here in Blois would respond to His call.

We’re sorry that Lydia, who had just started her university year-abroad placement with us, had to return in haste to the UK due to the Covid-19 crisis. We pray that God will show her the good things He has in store. We’ll be saying good-bye to the Klein family and Anne-Line who are planning to move back to Alsace this summer. We’re thankful for friendship and service during their time in Blois, and we will miss them! Please pray that God would guide them as they settle into new jobs and schools, and that He would open doors as they seek to serve Him. Please pray too that God would send us some mature believers to strengthen the witness of the church plant, as we remain small and fragile.
