After 20 years of pastoral ministry within the Anglican Church in the UK, Paul & Marjorie felt the call of God to go and work in France, a country dear to their hearts for many years. They came to Châteauroux in 2011 as the pastoral couple of the then France-Mission (now Perspectives) church there. During their time in Châteauroux they have seen the church mature and develop, with its own leadership structure, worship association and well-adapted building. In 2013 a group from the church started a new church plant in the nearby town of Argenton-sur-Creuse. The emphasis of Paul & Marjorie’s ministry is to encourage an outward-looking focus, based around personal relationships. The church uses the “Passerelles” and “Alpha” courses as part of this strategy, as well as themed social evenings, an English conversation group and other activities to which church members may invite friends. They have also made efforts to make the church known in the town through participation in the various municipal structures. Paul, with a colleague, has a weekly radio programme on the local catholic radio station (RCF Berry), based each week around a Christian worship song. Paul & Marjorie plan to retire in 2020 and return to the UK to be nearer to their family. They are currently actively looking for a pastor or couple to replace them.
